Ford 3L5Z-18125-AL Shock Absorber Assembly

Periodically verify the steering linkage and suspension components for wear or damage. To check the shock absorbers, park the car on level ground, turn off the engine, and set the parking brake. Push down on each corner of the vehicle and see what happens. If it keeps moving or doesn't come back to its original position then it means that shock absorbers are worn out or weak. Repeat this at other corners as well. Raise the vehicle and check shock absorbers for any fluid leakage, damage, or secure mounting points. Check upper mounts for any kind of wear or damage. To perform steering & suspension checks visually inspect them for any damages, leaks, seals getting old, boots breaking apart & fittings going bad together.

To detach the lower end of the shock absorber, remove the two lower shock absorber mounting nuts.
