Q:
How to remove the MAP sensor on Ford Fusion? Posted by Customer
A:
The MAP sensor is located on different parts of the engine depending on the specific model. For four cylinder models, it is located on the front left side of the block, above the starter motor (2.3L engine), above the oil filter adapter (2.SL engine), on the front left side of the charge air cooler (2.0L engine), or on the top of the intake manifold (1.SL and 1.6L engines). To remove the sensor, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor and remove the retaining bolt. Installation is the reverse of removal. For V6 models, the process is similar. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAP sensor, remove the retaining bolt, and remove the sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
