To remove the shift lever assembly, first set the parking brake and place the shift lever in the Neutral position. Next, remove the center console shifter bezel and the center console, along with the driver and passenger center console kick panels. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Use a screwdriver or trim panel tool to separate the shift cable end from the shift lever, then disconnect the shift cable from the shift assembly mounting bracket, ensuring to replace the shift lever cable retaining clip(s) with new ones. Disconnect the shift lock solenoid electrical connector, then remove the two nuts and two bolts to take out the shift lever assembly from the floor. For installation, follow the reverse of the removal procedure and adjust the shift cable if necessary.
