    Q:
How to remove and install the rear Steering Knuckle on a Ford Edge? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before beginning the disassembly, with the full weight of the vehicle on the ground, take a measurement from the center of the rear hub to the lower edge of the bodywork at the top of the wheel opening. This measurement is the normal ride height of the vehicle and will be used when re-assembling the rear suspension components. Measure and record the ride height. Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands, then remove the wheel. Support the lower control arm with a floor jack. Remove the brake caliper but leave the brake line attached. Use wire to support the caliper and position it to the side. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. Disconnect the lower end of the shock absorber from the knuckle. Detach the outer end of the upper control arm from the knuckle. Detach the toe link from the knuckle. Detach the trailing arm from the knuckle. Remove the lower arm-to-knuckle bolt, then use a ball joint separator or other puller to detach the knuckle from the lower arm. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, tightening all suspension fasteners to the torque values with the suspension at normal ride height. This can be simulated by raising the suspension with the floor jack. Tighten the brake fasteners to the torque values. If you're working on an all-wheel drive model, tighten the drive axle/hub nut(s) to the torque. Install the wheel and lug nuts, then lower the vehicle. Tighten the lug nuts to the torque.

    Q:
How to remove and install Steering Knuckle on Lincoln MKX? Posted by Customer
    A:
To get the wheel off the ground, loosen the lug nuts, lift the car, and put it on jack stands. Remove the drive axle/hub nut, washer, and hub seal. Throw away old seals but keep nuts and washers. Take out the ABS wheel speed sensor and wiring harness bracket bolt. Disconnect the brake hose bracket from the strut. Take off the brake caliper, caliper mounting bracket, and brake disc. Wire caliper to coil spring. Separate control arm and tie-rod end from the steering knuckle. Disconnect the drive axle from hubs using a drive hub remover tool. Disconnect the lower end of the strut from the steering knuckle, and remove the knuckle. While installing guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position; Insert the drive axle into the hub. Install and tighten lower strut bolts and nuts on both sides of the vehicle. Connect the ball joint along with the tie-rod end with the steering knuckle. Fit wheel speed sensor as well as harness bracket in place.
