    How can you remove the brake drum if it is stuck due to corrosion or wear for the 1998 Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer

    If the drum is stuck due to corrosion between the axle flange and wheel studs or brake drum, spray penetration oil around the flange and studs and allow it to soak in. Tap around the studs with a hammer and the flange to break the drum loose, then tap around the back edge of the drum to remove it. If the drum is locked onto the shoes due to excessive wear, knock out the plug in the backing plate's access hole, push the actuator lever off the star adjuster, and back off the adjuster wheel to retract the shoes.
