Ford 9T4Z-1104-A Hub Assembly - Wheel

To disassemble all-wheel-drive models of 2010 vintage and below, find the ride height and remove the required parts. For 2010 or older, take out the tire, brake caliper, brake disc, brake hose bracket, drive axle/hub nut(s), and wheel speed sensor. For front-wheel drive automobiles, remove the wheel speed sensor and brake hose bracket. Consequently, take off bolts that hold the wheel bearing and hub assembly. In addition to that, for models such as 2011 and above mentioned version remove its wheel bearing together with hub assembly bolts then push the drive axle from the hub. Finally, for the 2010 or less models install your wheel hub/bearing assembly then insert your drive axle before tightening it up with bolts and nuts.

To install the hub and bearing assembly, follow the reverse steps of removal. Additionally, make sure to replace all suspension fasteners that were removed with new ones and tighten them to the specified values listed in the Specifications.

First, apply the parking brake and loosen the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the front of the vehicle and securely support it on jack stands. Remove the wheel and brake disc. Next, remove the hub dust cap and nut, and push the drive axle through the hub splines while removing the hub and bearing assembly. Care should be taken not to overextend the inner CV joint. Finally, support the outer end of the drive axle with a length of wire or rope.
