Drain the cooling system. Use clamps to block air from flowing through the heater hoses when you remove them from where they connect to the heater core pipes at the firewall. When removing hose from heater core, put hose towards pipe to show locking tabs, press lockers to compress, and carefully pull hose whilst turning, to remove from pipe. Once you disconnected each hose from the heater core pipes at the firewall, make sure there's no more leakage by clamping off the hose. To remove and discard the coupling retainers, push in and separate the two tabs of each retainer, and pull the retainer straight off the pipe. Set a fresh pair of retainers whenever you reattach any heater core plumbing hoses. Slide the stoppers on both sides of the glove compartment door, and open the door like this. Remove the panel/floor door vacuum control motor. Pull the screw holding down the electronic blend door actuator. Undo the screws on the heater core cover, lift it up, and then lift it right off. Take the heater core out of the covering housing. The heater core re-installs by putting a gasket between the cover and housing, filling the cooling system with the right coolant, and starting the engine to find any possible leaks.
