Ford XC3Z-9601-AA Element Assy - Air Cleaner

For gasoline engines, the air filter is situated within a housing on the left side of the engine compartment. To replace it, disconnect the mass air flow electrical connector, release the housing's clamp, separate the cover halves, and remove the air filter element. Inspect the filter's outer surface and replace if dirty; if moderately dusty, it can be cleaned with compressed air. Never wash or oil a pleated paper filter. Wipe the inside of the housing, place the new filter, and reinstall the housing. For diesel engines, an air filter restriction gauge monitors air filter condition. Replace the filter if the gauge reads "Change Filter." On 7.3L engines, detach the air intake hose, release the clips securing the air cleaner housing cover, and remove the filter. Wipe the housing's inside, place the new filter, and reinstall the housing. On 6.0L engines, release clamps at each end of the intake duct air filter, separate the components, and replace the filter. Ensure proper engagement of tabs and slots during reinstallation and secure all clamps.
