- Q:What precautions should be taken when dealing with the accumulator/drier for the 2002 Ford Focus? Posted by Customer
- A:The accumulator/drier should be discharged at a service department or repair facility. Disconnect the negative battery cable and using a plastic clamp-type tool, disconnect the refrigerant line next to the accumulator/drier from the compressor. Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the right-hand front wheel. Unscrew the inner fender well liner and disconnect the refrigerant line from the accumulator/drier. Unbolt the accumulator/drier from the front suspension sub-frame and remove it. For 2008 and later models, remove the lower radiator splash shield and remove the accumulator/drier bolt. Install the accumulator/drier in the reverse order of removal.Posted by FordPartsGiant Specialist
