To remove the air outlet duct, start by removing the engine cover on four-cylinder models by pulling up on the grommets under the cover. On V6 models, remove the engine cover fasteners and oil filler cap. Disconnect the PCV fresh air hose from the air intake duct. On four-cylinder models, loosen the clamp at the air intake duct and the charge air cooler inlet tube, then remove the intake duct. On 2.7L V6 models, there are two air outlet ducts. To remove the left-hand duct, disconnect the vent tubes from the air cleaner outlet pipe, loosen the clamp and disconnect the cleaner outlet pipe from the air cleaner, remove the bolt from the left air cleaner outlet pipe, loosen the clamp and disconnect the Charge Air Cooler (GAG) intake pipe from the turbocharger, loosen the clamp and remove the left air cleaner outlet pipe from the coupler, and remove the coupler. To remove the right-hand duct on 2.7L V6 models, loosen the clamps and remove the upper outlet pipe, loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses at the top of the outlet pipe, and remove the bolt and the lower air cleaner outlet pipe. On 3.5L and 3.7L V6 models, loosen the clamps at the air filter box and the throttle body, and remove the air intake duct. To remove the air filter box, disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor, remove the air filter box cover and filter element, and pull up on the box to detach the locating pins from the grommets. Inspect the condition of the filter box mounting grommets and replace them if necessary.
