To remove the sway bar kit and perform related procedures, first, ensure that the steering wheel is securely held in the straight ahead position using a steering wheel holding tool or by passing the seat belt through the steering wheel and clipping it into place. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it on jackstands, making sure to apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels for safety. Remove the front wheels, mark the relationship between the steering shaft and steering gear, and disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear by removing the clamp bolt. Proceed to remove the front and right-side fender splash guards, as well as the lower bumper cover from the sub frame by removing the nuts. On 2014 and earlier models, detach the power steering hose bracket, and remove the front portion of the exhaust system. If working on an all-wheel drive model, index-mark the driveshaft, detach it from the transfer case, and reposition it. Disconnect the sway bar links, tie-rod ends, and ball joints from the respective components, securing harnesses and electrical connectors as needed. Remove the engine roll restrictor heat shield and related bolt, marking the location of the front sub-frame to the underbody at the mounting locations. Support the front sub-frame with floor jacks, remove the bolts and nuts from the sub-frame support brackets, and then remove the four sub-frame nuts, lowering the sub-frame with the jacks by about 3 inches. Unbolt the sway bar bushing clamps and guide the sway bar kit out. While off the vehicle, slide off the retainer bushings and inspect them, replacing if cracked or worn. Clean the sway bar bushing area with a wire brush to remove rust or dirt. For installation, follow the reverse procedure, tightening fasteners to specified torque values, ensuring the bushings are installed without lubricant, and noting specific orientation for bushings on 2015 and later models. When installing the sub-frame, align it with your marks, tighten the sub-frame nuts, and then secure the remaining support bracket fasteners.
