    Q:
How to replace the motor and transmission mount on the Ford Taurus? Posted by Customer
    A:
For 2008 and later models, insert a large screwdriver or prybar between the mount and the transaxle and pry up/down for the mount or left/right for the torque rod. The transaxle should not move excessively away from the mount; if it does, replace the mount. To remove the mount, first, remove the battery and battery tray, then the air filter housing. Supporting the transaxle with a floor jack or engine support, remove the through-bolt nut and bolt along with the mount-to-chassis bolts, and then remove the mount, raising the transaxle slightly if necessary for clearance. After removing the remaining mount bolts, installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring all mount fasteners are installed before tightening any. To address the torque rod, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the splash shield. Disconnect and lower the exhaust y-pipe, remove the torque rod bolts, and take out the torque rod. Installation is again the reverse of removal.
