Before the final tightening of any components on the rear suspension, it must be set to the Design Height setting on both sides of the vehicle. For models from 2008 and later, all suspension and steering system fasteners that require specific torque should be replaced with new ones whenever removed, excluding the subframe bolts. To remove the rear coil spring, unscrew the nuts and bolts securing the sway bar links to the rear lower arms, then remove the washers and bushings. Next, unscrew the bolts securing the sway bar mounting clamps to the rear suspension crossmember, release the clamps, and withdraw the sway bar from under the vehicle. Examine the rubber bushings for the mounting clamps and links, replacing them if necessary, as the links are available individually. During installation, ensure the bushings are correctly located on the flats of the sway bar without lubricant, except for water if required, with the nipple on the left-hand side when installed. Locate the sway bar on the rear crossmember, install the clamps, and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Install the sway bar links to the rear lower arms along with the bushings and washers. For the Design Height setting, remove the rear coil springs and use a jack to raise the lower arm until the specified fabricated space can be placed between the lower arm and crossmember in a vertical position. When set in this position on both sides, all rear suspension bolts can be tightened to their specified torques. The spacers can then be removed, and the coil springs installed before reinstalling the rear wheels and lowering the vehicle to the ground.
