Q:
How do I remove and install the front stabilizer bar, Bushing and links on Ford Mustang? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the sway bar kit and links, start by raising the front of the vehicle and supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the crossmember brace nuts and bolts on 2011 and later models. Then, remove the sway bar kit-to-link nuts and discard them, making sure to hold the ball stud with a wrench while loosening the link nuts. If removing the link entirely, remove the strut-to-link nuts as well. Next, remove the sway bar kit bracket nuts and detach the kit from the vehicle. Inspect the bushings for any signs of damage, such as cracks or hardening, and remove and discard them if necessary. For installation, lubricate the new sway bar kit bushings with a rubber lubricant and slide them onto the kit. Push the brackets over the bushings and raise the kit up to the frame, installing new bracket nuts finger tight. Install the sway bar kit links using new nuts. Finally, tighten the bracket nuts and sway bar kit link nuts to the specified torque.
