    How is the Alternator removed from the 2005 Ford Focus? Posted by Customer

    To remove the alternator from 2003 and 2004 Zetec-E and Duratec engines, follow these steps. Remove the front engine mount bolts. Pry the engine forward and insert one bolt behind the mount to keep the engine in place. Remove the canister purge valve retaining bolts and plastic cover. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator. Unscrew the alternator mounting bolts. Lift the alternator from the engine. Remove the cooling fan and shroud.
