Remove the garnish moldings and pull the old weatherstripping off the welded flanges around the door opening. Inspect the flanges for any bends or distortions, using a pair of vise grips or two hammers to flatten any distortion. Applying rubber lubricant to the new weatherstripping will ease installation; install the weatherstripping around the door opening, taking care not to stretch it. Avoid trimming the ends until installation is complete, then cut them to 1 inch longer than necessary so that the ends can be butted together.
