Loosen the pump adjusting bolt and retaining bolts, then push the pump in toward the engine and remove the drivebelt. Disconnect the power system fluid lines from the pump and drain the fluid into a suitable container, plugging or taping over the end of the lines to prevent dirt ingress. If necessary, remove the alternator drivebelt(s). Remove the bolts attaching the pump to the engine bracket and take out the pump; on some engine installations, it may be necessary to remove the pump complete with bracket. Replacing is a direct reversal of the removal procedure, ensuring that the fluid lines are tightened to the specified torque, topping up the system with an approved fluid, and adjusting the alternator drivebelt tension.
