How do you remove and install a wiper motor on Mercury Grand Marquis?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the rear hood seal and the wiper motor housing cover by pulling off the rear hood seal weatherstripping and using a small screwdriver to detach each of the wiper housing clips. Next, remove the wiper motor retaining bolts, noting that on later models, the wiper motor linkage must be removed before accessing the motor mounting bolts. After that, remove the clip from the wiper motor and disconnect the wiper linkage drive arm from the motor by prying off the clip with a small screwdriver and detaching the wiper arm from the motor. Unplug the electrical connector and lift the wiper motor from the housing, with installation being the reverse of the removal process.
