How to remove and install the air filter box and air cleaner housing on Mercury Grand Marquis?

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Loosen the bolt(s) from the air intake assembly on the intake manifold and the clamps on the air filter box and remove the air intake assembly from the engine compartment. Remove the mounting bolt and clamp from the air intake assembly. Unclip the upper half of the air filter box assembly and remove it. Remove the air filter element. Remove the air filter box mounting nuts and detach the assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal.
