For 2010 and earlier models, begin by removing the steering column cover screws, then take off the cover and opening reinforcement. If applicable, unscrew the tilt lever, squeezing the top and bottom of the tilt lever collar to remove it. Next, take out the screws from the underside of the lower column shroud and lower the shroud away from the column, moving the shift lever if the vehicle has an automatic transmission. Lift the upper shroud half off the column, and for installation, reverse the removal steps. For 2011 models, start by removing the key lock cylinder. If equipped, unscrew the tilt lever and remove it by squeezing the collar. Then, take out the cover mounting screws from below the steering column and remove both the upper and lower covers, with installation being the reverse of removal.
