How to remove and install the steering column cover on Ford Explorer?

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the key lock cylinder, which is only necessary for the removal of the upper column cover. Use a small wrench to remove the tilt wheel lever if equipped. Remove the screws from the lower steering column cover, then separate the steering column cover halves to detach them from the column. Finally, separate the cover halves and detach them from the steering column, with installation being the reverse of removal.
