Some of the common problems may include leakage of hydraulic fluids, mechanical jamming or electrical faults in the circuitry hence one has to determine whether the problem is electrical mechanical or hydraulic before effecting any repair. Diagnosis involves understanding of how the transaxle functions and is put together besides requiring the use of some diagnostic equipment, problems which relate to the automatic transaxle must therefore be diagnosed by a dealer service department or some other competent service center. Also, a faulty transaxle should not be removed until the vehicle has been taken to an experienced technician who has the tools for diagnosing the problem as troubleshooting involves the transaxle being fitted in the car.
