How to inspect and replace brake line and flexible brake hoses in a Ford Edge?

To ensure its proper functioning, every six months check the flexible brake pipe that joins the brake pipes to the brake assemblies for any damage with a light and a small mirror; if the hose is found to be defective it should be replaced. Clean the end of the hose, then unscrew the tube nut, and remove the bolt(s) or clip(s) retaining hose. Remove the caliper hose, leaving in place all new washer sealing. Hose installation must be free from torsion and suspension elements should not touch it. An assistant should press down on the vehicle and turn the steering wheel when checking. Bleed the brakes and check the pressure by depressing the pedal.

Clean the end of the hose, then unscrew the tube nut, and remove the bolt(s) or clip(s) retaining hose. Remove the caliper hose, leaving in place all new washer sealing. Hose installation must be free from torsion and suspension elements should not touch it. An assistant should press down on the vehicle and turn the steering wheel when checking. Bleed the brakes and check the pressure by depressing the pedal.
