About Ford E350 Super Duty

Ford E350 Super Duty is a full-size passenger and cargo van manufactured and marketed by Ford Motor Company since 1961. The first Ford E350 Super Duty was introduced for 1961 model year as the replacement for the panel van bodystyle of the Ford F-Series. It belongs to the long-standing and well-known Ford E-Series (also called as the Ford Econoline and Ford Club Wagon). Up to present, it has been produced through four generations.
The third generation Ford E350 Super Duty (1975-1991) featured body-on-frame construction. It had lots of engine options. Available transmissions included 3-speed and 4-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A fully redesigned Ford E350 Super Duty was introduced for the 1992 model year, which marked the beginning of the fourth generation (1992-present). It has Club trims like Wagon XLT, Chateau and son on. More versatile engines are available ranging from 4.9 L Truck Six inline 6-cylinder engine to 6.0 L Navistar Power Stroke V8 diesel engine. And engines are attached to 4-speed and 5-speed automatic transmissions.

Ford E350 Super Duty Common Problems & Maintenance Tips

As a passenger and cargo van, Ford E350 Super Duty is popular among families as well as caterers. It has to take responsibility of transporting and loading, which would cause its wearing as accumulation of time. Here are the two most common problems drivers complained:
First, engine failure. This problem has a really bad influence on engine's performance. E350 Super Duty owners said the engine would not only run roughly but also would stall then get into difficulty starting condition. What's more, fuel economy deteriorated as oil leaked. A knocking sound would also give out form the engine as well as an illuminated Check Engine Light. All these could be caused by broken fuel tank or timing cover. Check on them is a necessity.
Second, transmission and suspension issues. Drivers complained that they can feel extensive vibrations while driving, which really impacted the driving experience. And the indicator did not match gears any more. Annoying excessive road noise and grinding noises troubled them a lot as well. If you also find uneven tire wear, then apart from the shift cable, coil spring insulator and shock absorber, you still need to check the tie rod end.
What makes you drive at night like day is the headlight. You may never pay attention to it unless you have to use it. Actually, headlight is not only helpful at night but also in some extreme weathers. And it works as your tool for better vision and warning light for other drivers and pedestrians. Remember to maintain your headlight before it is too late.
