The Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV that was launched in 1998 as the heaviest vehicle under the Lincoln brand. It offers ample cargo space and user-friendly functionalities and features a 5-door SUV body style and a front-engine layout, with options for rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. The first-generation Navigator measures a wheelbase of 119.0 inches, a length of 204.8 inches, a width of 79.8 inches, and a height of 75.2 inches. It's powered by a 300 hp 5.4L Triton V8 engine equipped with a 4-speed 4R100 automatic transmission. In 2015 it debuted a 450 hp twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6, significantly boosting power output. It features dual front-side airbags, power seating, remote entry, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes for safety, the Navigator offers a comfortable, safe ride with high-tech features and luxury parts. It continues to evolve, ensuring its excellence across varying surfaces and weather conditions. As it moves forward, the Lincoln Navigator is expected to maintain its prominent position in the sports-utility auto industry.

Although the Lincoln Navigator is now more commonly used as a family vehicle rather than an off-road vehicle, it is not immune to wear and tear, albeit at a slower rate. The first common issue is electrical, which is a frequent problem in modern vehicles. Symptoms such as a malfunctioning heater, a blower motor stuck at a particular speed, or foreign objects stuck in the blower motor may indicate a failing blower motor. Other vulnerable electrical components include the parking assist distance sensor, window regulator, power window motor, seat switch, and seat heater switch. The second common issue relates to the transmission and suspension system. Navigator owners often report slower response in vehicle handling and persistent rattling or squeaking noises from underneath the vehicle, which can be distracting and annoying. Transmission failure is frequently due to a faulty transmission sensor, and a faulty sway bar bushing often causes suspension system problems. Moreover, routine maintenance is required for other components, such as the wheel cover, which not only serves a decorative purpose but also prevents the accumulation of dirt and moisture on wheels, thus contributing to the smooth running of your Navigator.

Original equipment manufacturer parts excel in quality. Made from the finest materials to guarantee their durability, they are the top choice for maintaining your vehicle's peak performance. Furthermore, they are designed to adhere to official Lincoln factory specifications, ensuring effortless installation and a perfect fit. At FordPartsGiant.com, we offer an extensive inventory of genuine Lincoln Navigator parts at unbeatable prices. Supported by a manufacturer's warranty, our parts, have a hassle-free return policy, and rapid delivery service, your shopping experience here will surely be top-notch!

Lincoln Navigator Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear seal on Lincoln Navigator?
A: On Expedition/Navigator models, the axle shaft or drive axles should be removed. Pry the oil seal out of the end of the axle housing with a large screwdriver or the inner end of the axle shaft. Apply multi-purpose grease to the oil seal recess and tap the new seal evenly into place with a hammer and seal installation tool, large socket, or piece of pipe so the lips are lacing in and the metal lace is visible from the end of the axle housing. When correctly installed, the face of the oil seal should be flush with the end of the axle housing.
  • Q: How to diagnose starter problems on Lincoln Navigator?
A: Before diagnosing starter issues, ensure a fully charged battery. If the starter motor doesn't turn, check the shift lever is in Neutral or Park and that the battery is charged with secure cables. If the motor spins but the engine doesn't turn over, the starter motor may need replacing. If the motor doesn't operate but the solenoid clicks, the problem could be the battery, solenoid contacts, or motor connections. If the solenoid doesn't click, the defect could be in the solenoid, relay, ignition switch, Transmission Range sensor, clutch switch, or wiring. Check the starter circuit and test the relay with a jumper wire. If the motor operates, the relay is fine and the issue may be in the ignition switch, Transmission Range sensor, Clutch Pedal Position switch, or wiring. If the motor doesn't operate, check for voltage to the relay and inspect the Mega Fuses, main battery fuses, and cable to the relay. If voltage is present, replace the starter assembly. If not, trace the wiring for an open circuit. If the motor cranks slowly, ensure a fully charged battery and clean, tight terminal connections. Check the solenoid and battery ground connections. If the engine cranks slowly, it may be partially seized or have the wrong oil viscosity.
  • Q: How to remove and install an alternator on Lincoln Navigator?
A: Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Unplug the electrical connectors from the alternator. Remove the drivebelt. On 4.6L engines, remove the ignition wire assembly from the 1ke manifold area. Remove the bolts and separate the alternator from the engine. On 2005 and later 5.4L engines, remove the four bolts and the mounting bracket above the alternator, then remove the i lower alternator mounting bolts. Installation is the reverse of removal. Alter the alternator is installed, install the drivebelt and reconnect cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
