- A:To disconnect the brake light switch, start by disconnecting the electrical connector at the switch. Then, rotate the switch 45-degrees clockwise to remove it. With the brake pedal in the at-rest position, lightly pull it rearward and rotate the switch clockwise 45-degrees to remove it. When installing the switch, insert it into the bracket and rotate it 45-degrees counter clockwise, being careful not to move the brake pedal to avoid damaging the switch.
