Remove the lower trim panel from below the glovebox, if equipped. If working on a 4WD model, remove the electronic shift control module. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor, remove its mounting screws, and take out the resistor from the evaporator housing. To install, simply reverse the removal process. For the rear blower motor resistor, take off the rear quarter trim panel from the left side of the vehicle. On later models, the rear blower resistor can be accessed through a removable panel atop the left quarter-panel interior trim. Detach the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor, remove its mounting screws, and extract the resistor from the air conditioning/heater control unit. Again, installation follows the reverse process. For the front blower motor, after removing the lower trim panel below the glovebox, remove the vacuum tank mounting screw and separate the vacuum tank from the heat control unit. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector, take out the mounting screws, and remove the blower motor. The rear blower motor entails removing the rear quarter trim panel on the left side, disconnecting the circulation hose from the blower motor assembly, and then the electrical connector. Finally, remove the blower motor's mounting screws and the blower motor itself. For both front and rear blower motors, installation is the reverse of removal.
