- A:To remove the rear heater core, start by removing the rear upper trim panel, pillar trim panel, quarter panel tray, rear hatch/bumper guard, and the rear seat. Remove the rear quarter panel from the left side of the interior. Disconnect the evaporator/heater core housing electrical connectors and the vertical air duct from above the housing. Remove the evaporator/heater core housing mounting bolts and nuts. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands. From below the vehicle, disconnect the heater hoses and air conditioning lines. Lower the vehicle and remove the evaporator/heater core housing from the rear. Proceed to remove the temperature blend door actuator, air distribution blend door actuator, disconnect the hoses from the heater core, and then remove the heater core cover.
