- A:For the front heater core on 2003 and earlier V8 models, first remove the engine trim cover. Then, disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core inlet and outlet pipes at the firewall. Disconnect the evaporator inlet and outlet lines. Proceed to remove the instrument panel. If it's a 4WD model, disconnect the 4WD module. Disconnect vacuum lines at the engine compartment firewall, remove the rubber seal, and push the vacuum lines into the passenger compartment. Lift the evaporator/heater core housing from the passenger compartment after removing its mounting bolts. Remove the insulating panel seal around the heater core tubes, followed by removing the floor ducts from the housing. Finally, remove the extension bracket, heater core tube cover, and the heater core cover itself. Carefully pull out the heater core from the housing.Posted by FordPartsGiant Specialist
