- A:Several checks can be performed. First, check for the voltage signal from the PCM by probing the wires of the IAC valve electrical connector with a voltmeter. The voltage should be around 10.5 to 12.5 volts. If the voltage is correct, measure the resistance across the terminals of the IAC valve, which should be between 6.0 to 13.0 ohms.
