To replace the front disc brake pads, first, remove about half of the brake fluid from the reservoir and wash down the brake assembly with brake system cleaner. For floating (non-Brembo) calipers, depress the piston into the caliper with a C-clamp, then remove the caliper mounting bolts, outer and inner brake pads, spring clips, and guide pins. Clean and lubricate the guide pins, install new spring clips, and then put in the new inner and outer brake pads before reassembling the caliper. For fixed (Brembo) calipers, remove the cross-spring, pad pins, and inner brake pad. Push the caliper pistons into the bore and install the new inner and outer brake pads. Reassemble the caliper with the cross-spring and pad pins. Repeat these steps for the other brake assembly. When reinstalling the calipers, tighten the mounting bolts to specified torque. After completing the job, depress the brake pedal to bring the pads into contact with the disc, check the brake fluid level, and verify the brake operation before normal use. To replace the rear disc brake pads, follow similar steps as for the front brakes. After reinstalling the caliper, tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque, depress the brake pedal, check brake fluid level, and verify brake operation.
