- Q:How to remove and install the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) on Mercury Grand Marquis? Posted by Customer
- A:The fuel pump driver on 2003 and 2004 models is built internal to the PCM, while 2005 and 2006 models have an externally mounted driver module called the Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM). The FPDM is located underneath the vehicle, near the trunk area or behind the luggage compartment panel shelf trim panel. For 2005 through 2007 models, raise the rear of the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Remove the splash shield from under the vehicle and disconnect the electrical connector from the FPDM. Remove the FPDM mounting bolts and then remove the FPDM. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2008 and later models, open the trunk and remove the three pin retainers from the parcel shelf trim panel at the rear section. Lift the trim panel from the trunk and disconnect the FPDM electrical connector. Remove the mounting bolts and lift the FPDM from the trunk.
