- A:To replace the charcoal canister, remove the fuel filler cap to relieve the pressure inside the fuel tank. Make sure the ignition key is in the OFF position. Disconnect the purge control solenoid electrical connector. Remove the charcoal canister outlet hose. Remove the charcoal canister mounting bolt. Withdraw the charcoal canister from the vehicle.
