- A:To adjust the parking brake cable, start by firmly applying the parking brake lever four times. Then, open the center console storage compartment and remove the parking brake cable adjuster cover. With the cover removed and the parking brake lever four clicks up, you can access the adjuster nut. Raise the lever four clicks to gain access to the nut and turn it clockwise to tighten the cable or counterclockwise to loosen it. The correct adjustment is achieved when the nut is loosely touching the lever in its lowest position. Apply the parking brake lever four times and recheck the adjustment.
