- A:Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Unplug the electrical connectors from the alternator. Remove the electrical connector bracket if equipped. Remove the drivebelt. On 2011 models, disconnect the alternator B+ terminal wire(s). Remove the mounting bolts holding the alternator to its mounting bracket, and remove the alternator.
