How to check PCV system and PCV Valve?

The PCV valve is in the valve cover. To maintain efficient operation of the PCV system check the PCV valve by starting the engine, disconnect the PCV hose from the air cleaner housing, and check for vacuum. Remove the valve and inspect the rubber grommet for damage. Also, inspect the hose for damage and ensure it fits snugly on the fittings.
