  Q: How to remove and install a starter motor in Lincoln MKX?

  A: For four-cylinder models, detach the Battery Cable, raise the vehicle, and remove the underbody cover. Disconnect the starter motor solenoid wire nut, battery cable nut, and wires from the starter. Remove the ground wire and mounting stud bolts to remove the starter. Reverse the process for installation. For V6 models, additional steps include removing the air filter housing and outlet pipe for 2.7L engines. On 3.5L and 3.7L engines, disconnect the transaxle shift cable and remove the shift lever nut and lever. Remove the starter motor solenoid wire nut, battery cable nut, and wires from the starter motor. Remove the starter motor mounting fasteners to remove the starter. Reverse the process for installation.
