For 2007 and earlier models, begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable. To remove the radio, which is retained by special clips, use two special radio removal tools or coat hanger wire bent into U-shapes. Insert these tools into the holes at the corners of the radio assembly, pushing outward to release the retaining clips and pulling the radio out. Disconnect the antenna and electrical connector, then remove the radio from the vehicle. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the retaining clip snaps into place. After reconnecting the battery, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) needs to relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy. For 2008 and later models, removing the radio involves first removing the center middle instrument panel trim panel. Then, remove the four audio unit mounting screws and separate the unit from the trim panel. If there's a navigation system, disconnect the antenna and other wiring. Side brackets can be removed if necessary. Reinstall following the reverse order of removal. Note that if a new radio is installed, it must be programmed with a scan tool by a dealer service department. Regarding speakers, for front door speakers, remove the door trim panel and speaker mounting screws, then pull out the speaker and disconnect the electrical connector. Rear door speakers are removed similarly after removing the door trim panel. For the rear subwoofer speaker, access it by removing the rear door sill trim panel access cover and retainer, then proceed to remove the rear door sill trim panel, liftgate sill panel, liftgate weatherstrip, cargo net hold-down, and rear quarter trim panel. Disconnect the wiring, remove the mounting bolts, and take out the speaker assembly, which consists of the speaker, enclosure, and amplifier. Installation for all speakers follows the reverse order of removal.
