For 2005 and later Expedition/Navigator models, additional steps include cleaning the disc and pads with brake cleaner, removing caliper mounting bolts, hanging the caliper with a wire (avoiding hanging by the brake hose), removing the old pads, applying anti-squeal compound to the new pads' backing plates, and ensuring proper installation of anti-rattle clips and inner and outer brake pads. High-temperature grease should be applied to caliper slider pins, and the caliper should be secured with bolts. Rear brake pad replacement is similar, with variations noted for the specific model.
