To perform torsion bar adjustment, start by turning off the air suspension system if the vehicle is equipped with one. Then, loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and secure it on jackstands before removing the wheel. Mark the relationship of the torsion bar and torsion bar crossmember support, counting the exposed threads on the torsion bar adjuster bolt and marking its position relative to the adjuster nut. Use a puller centered on the dimple in the torsion bar adjuster arm to release tension and remove the adjuster nut. Mark the torsion bar's forward end's relationship with the lower control arm and slide the bar forward to clear the crossmember, removing the torsion bar adjuster arm. Pull the torsion bar down and to the rear, ensuring it clears the lower control arm, and if needed, use a brass drift to drive it out. For installation, lubricate the hexagonal hole in the lower control arm with grease, apply grease to the hex ends of the torsion bar, the top of the adjuster arm, and the adjuster bolt. Align the marks made on the torsion bar, crossmember, control arm, adjuster bolt, and nut. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. Measure the ride height on both sides and adjust the torsion bar accordingly until the vehicle sits level, making adjustments carefully while settling the suspension for accurate readings.
