To remove the rocker arms, fulcrums, and pushrods, start by taking off the valve cover(s) from the cylinder head(s). Commencing at the front of one cylinder head, remove the rocker arm fulcrum bolts or stud nut, ensuring to loosen them just enough to rotate the rocker arms to the side for pushrod removal. Store the rocker arms, fulcrums, and bolts separately in marked containers. Lift off the rocker arms, fulcrums, and fulcrum guides if present, and store them in the designated containers. Remove the pushrods and store them separately. During inspection, check for wear, cracks, and damage on each rocker arm and ensure open holes at the pushrod end. Inspect rocker arm pivot areas and fulcrums for wear and damage. Replace any worn or damaged rocker arms and use new fulcrums if needed. Examine pushrods for cracks, wear, and bending, replacing any faulty ones. For installation, lubricate the pushrod lower ends with clean engine oil or moly-base grease and install them in their original locations. Apply moly-base grease to valve stem and pushrod upper ends before positioning the rocker arms, fulcrums, and guides. Apply moly-base grease to the fulcrums to prevent damage to mating surfaces before installing them with bolts. For valve adjustment on positive stop rocker arms, use a lifter bleed-down tool to press on the rocker arm until the lifter leaks down, then check the clearance between the valve stem and rocker arm with a feeler gauge, repeating the process for each valve in a specified order based on crankshaft position. Adjustments can be made by using different length pushrods.
