How do I replace the air filter in a Ford Fusion?

The air filter is placed in a housing, which is on the left side of the engine compartment. Inspect its outer surface. If it's dirty, then replace it. However, if it's just moderately dusty, use compressed air to blow clean at it. Do not attempt to wash or oil this filter. If you can't clean it properly enough, then dispose and replace it with a new one. Wipe off the dust that settled inside the housing. Insert a new filter ensuring proper placement. Attach the top half by using clamps to hold it firmly.
